NEW JACK WILLS STORE >> MANCHESTER

The new Jack Wills store in Manchester has opened on Kings Road. I went to take a look and give you a sneaky peak. The images below show a few snap shots of the store, however I would recommend you go and experience the store for yourself, and of course buy a little treat.
The store was laid out very well in thus large house. The decoration is as quirky as ever and the staff are very welcoming and are there to help with sizes and any questions.

A warm and friendly welcome from the staff.

The images from the stair case, showing the wall art and classic Jack Wills stripe on the wall.

Christmas spirit with the wonderful decorations!

The above images show the quirky décor of the store including a bubble bath and antlers.

Christmas sales in Manchester city centre

As I only live 20 minutes away from Manchester city centre I thought I would take a trip in and see which shops were having Christmas sales and how they were advertising their stores.
I took a few pictures of the high end high street stores.

Harvey Nichols is renowned for their large and elaborate window displays, however for the big spend the window simply has large sale posters to attract their customers attention. I personally think this is a disappointing display. I think they could have used the bottom windows to advertise the wonderful selection of clothes and accessories they have on offer and add some new year decoration and cheer!

Burberry didn't have any sale in store which I found surprising considering they are next to Harvey Nichols and other competitors

These Louis Vuitton displays attracted my attention. They are simple yet show classic style and look crisp and   have a sense of class. These qualities are also reflected in the style of handbags and purses.

SALE SHOPPING

As you all know... tis the season.. to spend your money on the winter sales!!! I have also been saving up my christmas money to go spending on clothes and accessories. Yesterday I went to the Trafford Centre, a good piece of advice, go shopping early! It was packed.

However, and the purpose of this post is to tell you that there are some fantastic sales on in Next (people were queueing outside to have a look), Topshop, Republic, Zara and not to mention Debenhams with up to 75% off! Defintely worth going to the effort of getting out of bed and draining that bank account.

Barbican Exhibition London

In the recent months I took a trip down to London for the day to attend the Barbican Exhibition in London. These are some of the pictures I was able to take. The pictures are slightly blurry as taking pictures was not allowed, I was told off for taking these pictures so I hope you enjoy!

Someone to keep an eye on?...

Remember watching the film Kick-Ass?
Well you may recognise this young lady.
Now Harry Potter is almost over, there is a new stylish actress called Chloe Moretz, so move over Emma Watson.
Here are a few images that caught my eye of her designer outfits. She has been dressed in Dior, Versace, Chanel and Proenza Schouler. Aged 13, she is definitely one to look out for in the future in the fashion stakes as well as her developing film career.

Recent group work

During the last few weeks of semester1, I had to produce a dress as part of a group project. The dress had to include a circle skirt, puff sleeves and a rever collar. These photographs show images of the development of the dress including the toile, along with the design of the dress and some of the research and construction pages to go with them.

These images below are primary images of our work in the weeks of development of the dress including pattern cutting and the toile of the dress.
