TRENCH COAT > DESIGNED AND CONSTRUCTED BY MYSELF

As one of my own personal projects I designed and made this trench coat myself.
I designed the coat to have a purple lining, welts and dogtooth buttons, which I also made myself using a laser cutter through plastic and CAD and CAM software.
These pictures show the final product.

A close up of the lining embroidered with a dogtooth outline on the back of the collar.

A close up of the detail on the front including the welts. The buckle was slightly too wide which I was disappointed with.

The under side of the band also has the purple lining to be in keeping with the rest of the coat.

I even made the belt loops and band around the cuff myself.

Dover Street Market > LONDON

I recently took a visit to London and as part of my research into the fashion industry and decided to take a trip to Dover Street Market.
Dover Street has 6 floors of designer clothes featuring:
Raf Simons, Junya Watanabe, Alber Elbaz and Rei Kawajubo for Comme des Garcons, who created this retail concept.

The store can be found on this link if you ever want to visit.

The store has a very minimal and industrial feel to it, with the clothes simply hanging off steel rails. There aren't any flamboyant decorations, just bare walls and cold concrete floors. Yet the place still feels magical.
The bare interior also makes the clothes stand out and attract your eye. No fuss is made.

I love the way the shoes have simply been placed under the rails. You can see which items of clothing will work well against them and they are there for you to touch and appreciate their construction. You are able to understand the pieces you are buying before you purchase.

I found this portaloo a quirky feature in the store.

These are some images of the clothes of Rai Kawakubo for Comme des Garcons.
